FAQ
What people ask before booking. If yours isn't here, konnor@prairiepeak.ca.
01
What does Konnor Killoran do?
Konnor Killoran is a photographer and videographer who trained as a journalist at Toronto Metropolitan University. He shoots live and social coverage, brand campaigns, and editorial commissions on location worldwide, and runs the production company Prairie Peak.
02
Where is Konnor Killoran based, and does he travel?
Konnor Killoran is based in Toronto, Ontario, and travels for most of the work. Assignments have run across Canada, the United States, France, and the Dominican Republic, including international editorial work published nationally in the Toronto Star. Single-photographer trips abroad are routine rather than an exception.
03
Does he shoot photo, video, or both?
Both, usually on the same assignment. Video work runs from platform-native social edits to campaign films; photo work runs from brand and product stills to editorial photo essays. Most projects on the site delivered both.
04
What kinds of projects does he take on?
Three: live and social coverage for teams, leagues, artists, and creators; brand campaign production, either creator-led or direct with the brand; and editorial or commissioned photography for publications and brands. Each is described in detail on the services page.
05
How quickly is footage delivered?
Same-day or next-day for platform-native social edits, which is the standard on live and tour coverage where a clip loses most of its value overnight. Campaign and editorial work runs on a schedule agreed at scoping, since colour and retouching take longer than a social cut.
06
Can he cover a full tour or a whole season?
Yes. Sustained output is the part most freelancers can't cover, and it has been proven at length: 20 cities in 45 days on SadBoi's GIRL Tour, and two years as the videographer for creator Saif Shawaf.
07
Who has Konnor Killoran worked with?
Brands and rights-holders including America's Got Talent, FIFA, DoorDash, RBC, REMAX, MLSE, Five Gum, Axe Body Spray, alongside newsrooms including the Toronto Star, CBC, and CityNews, and sports properties including the NBA G-League and the PWHL. Content he has filmed has drawn two billion views.
08
Has his work won awards or been published nationally?
Yes. He shared the CAJ Silver Award in Online Media with Stephen Maher for "Separatism in Canada," reported for Ricochet Media. His photography has been published nationally in the Toronto Star.
09
How does booking work?
Four steps: an inquiry by email, a scoping conversation to settle deliverables and dates, the shoot, and delivery — same-day or next-day where the work calls for it. Inquiries go to konnor@prairiepeak.ca.
10
What does a shoot cost?
Projects are quoted individually after scoping, since cost is driven by the length of the assignment, the travel, and what is being delivered rather than by a list price. Where the value sits is the structure: one person covers both photo and video on the same assignment, so work that would otherwise be booked as two engagements is booked as one. Email konnor@prairiepeak.ca with a subject, a city, and rough dates.
11
Is hiring one person cheaper than hiring a full crew?
For a lot of this work, yes — it is the reason the setup exists. Konnor Killoran shoots both photo and video himself on the same assignment, and same-day or next-day social edits are part of live and tour coverage rather than something scheduled separately afterwards. On assignments abroad the gap is widest: one photographer travelling is one set of flights and accommodation, which is how a Toronto Star commission in the Dominican Republic and a 20-city, 45-day tour were each covered by a single person.
